Computational Abilities Knowledge Exchange (CAKE)
The UK’s Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) community brings software, algorithms and infrastructure together. It has acquired a huge body of knowledge, but this is not well connected across the UK and sharing is uncoordinated. CAKE is a recently funded network plus that will form a central hub that facilitates Knowledge Exchange (KE) across UK DRI. The intention of this network is to provide resources to help connect both traditional and emerging DRI communities to facilitate collaboration including, identifying and addressing shared challenges across all the identified communities. CAKE starts the 1st of April 2025, and builds upon the successes and lessons learnt from the ExCALIBUR programme. Therefore, whilst the network is very much in its kick off phase at the moment, there are a significant number of activities and initiatives that it builds upon and looks to continue. A poster at the ARCHER2 celebration of science event will enable us to share with the ARCHER2 community plans for this network plus, to encourage and grow existing knowledge exchange activities and also make connections with new people in order to ensure that the community is aware of CAKE and encouraged to get involved.
