Experimental Results: Centrifuge Test SW 03 for Shared Anchors in Floating Wind Turbines
This dataset contains the experimental results from centrifuge test SW_03, conducted on 17 December 2024, as part of the ShareWind project (Shared Anchors for Floating Wind Turbines, Grant Agreement 101106921). The experiment focused on the monotonic and multidirectional loading response of suction anchors installed in normally consolidated clay. The test aimed to simulate realistic mooring line loading conditions for floating offshore structures under inclined and cyclic loading paths. The dataset includes load-displacement curves, excess pore pressure measurements, vertical and lateral displacement data, and detailed information on the experimental setup, instrumentation, anchor installation procedures, and model preparation. Strength characterization tests (T-bar and hand vane) are also provided to describe the undrained shear strength profile of the clay. All results are presented in both model and prototype scales, with normalization where applicable. Supporting documentation includes diagrams, tables, and photographs of the setup, enabling reproducibility and comparison across studies. This dataset is intended for researchers and engineers working in offshore geotechnics, soil-structure interaction, physical modelling, and the design and analysis of anchors for floating renewable energy systems. It can be used for validation of numerical models, comparative studies, and further interpretation of anchor behavior under complex loading conditions.
