GENETIC STRUCTURE OF ACUTE MYELOID LEUKEMIA
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) - is the most common acute leukemia among adults. The pathophysiology of the disease is associated with cytogenetic abnormalities, gene mutations and aberrant gene expression. Molecular genetic features of AML underlie the stratification of patients into risk groups and determination of treatment tactics. Chromosomal aberrations such as t(6;9)(p23;q34.1), DEK:NUP214, translocations involving the KMT2A gene (MLL), mutations in the RUNX1, TP53, ASXL1 genes are factors of unfavorable prognosis.
