AI and Emerging Technologies in the Pharmaceutical Industry: A Transformational Review

The pharmaceutical sector is experiencing a paradigm shift due to the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies such as Machine Learning, Blockchain, IoT, Robotics, and Augmented Reality. These instruments are transforming medication development, clinical research, manufacturing, and patient care by augmenting efficiency, decreasing expenses, and enhancing therapeutic results. Nevertheless, the industry encounters obstacles including elevated research and development expenditures, prolonged development periods, data saturation, and inefficiencies in clinical trials and supply chains. This paper examines the impact of AI and digital technologies on the pharmaceutical industry, addressing significant deficiencies in drug discovery, regulatory compliance, pharmacovigilance, personalized medicine, and market involvement, while also considering implementation issues. The results highlight that AI serves not only as a supplementary instrument but as a fundamental catalyst for transformation in the pharmaceutical sector, with its integration bolstered by ethical guidelines, regulatory flexibility, and proficient human supervision.
