The Fractured Time: Cosmology and Temporal Dimensions in Buddhist Thought
In Buddhist cosmology, time is not linear. It is a condition shaped by the impermanence and flux of the universe Lokadhātussa vipariṇāmo (the transformation of the world-systems). Unlike the linear time familiar to humans, Buddhist texts especially the Abhidhamma Pitaka and classical Theravāda commentaries describe time as fragmented across realms.
