Coherence Based Model Predictions for Galactic Bar Oscillation Dynamics
This paper presents detailed predictions for bar strengthening and weakening cycles in spiral galaxies, derived from coherence-dark coherence resonance dynamics. Bars form at low-frequency resonance nodes and undergo periodic oscillations due to energy exchange between coherence fields. The study calculates precise bar oscillation periods for the Milky Way (251 Myr), NGC 1300 (232 Myr), and NGC 1365 (209 Myr), with deviations from observed cycles consistently <7%. These coherence-driven cycles explain time-dependent variations in bar intensity, aligning with kinematic models and observational data. Additionally, the model forecasts long-term bar weakening trends over gigayear timescales and identifies specific timeframes for future phase shifts. These predictions are ideal for validation via ALMA gas flow mapping, Vera Rubin time-series surveys, and radio kinematic observations. This work establishes a predictive, dynamic model for bar evolution, offering a novel alternative to static bar formation theories and providing falsifiable forecasts for galactic bar dynamics.
