THE IMPACT OF RENAWABLE ENERGY ON RURAL ELECTRIFICATION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN REMOTE AREAS

This article investigates the impact of renewable energy (RE) deployment on rural electrification and economic development in remote areas. Access to reliable and affordable electricity is a critical enabler for socio-economic progress, particularly in underserved rural communities. This research examines the effectiveness of various RE technologies, including solar photovoltaic (PV), wind, hydro, and biomass, in providing electricity access and fostering economic opportunities in these regions.Furthermore, it explores the challenges and opportunities associated with RE project implementation, including financing, technological suitability, community engagement, and policy frameworks. The findings highlight the significant potential of RE to drive sustainable development in remote areas, improve livelihoods, and reduce reliance on traditional fossil fuel-based energy sources. The study concludes with policy recommendations for promoting RE-driven rural electrification and maximizing its socio-economic benefits in remote communities worldwide.
