first record, habitat, Hungarian, Heterarthru s species
This paper presents the first documented occurrence of Heterarthrus flavicollis (Gussakovskij,1947) in Hungary. The author discovered its leaf leaf-mines on Acer platanoides and confirmed its presence in the region, extending the known southern boundary of the species' distribution to the 44th parallel (Serbia). The study outlines the species' biology, noting its univoltine lifecycle and distinctive pupal cocoon formation. Additionally, the paper provides an annotated checklist of Heterarthrus species found in Hungary, detailing their biology and distribution. The research contributes to the broader understanding of leaf leaf-mining sawflies in Central Europe.
