Isatin as a Novel Anticancer Agent: Mechanisms and Potential in Breast Cancer Treatment

Isatin (1H-indole-2,3-dione) is a naturally occurring molecule having a range of pharmacological alterations, especially anti-cancer effects. Recent research has emphasized its potential as an anti-breast cancer drug, owing to ability to decrease tumor cell growth, induce apoptosis, and modify critical signaling pathways involved in cancer progression. Isatin works through a range of processes, including angiogenesis inhibition, metastasis suppression, and cell cycle control. Furthermore, its capacity to interact with biological pathways such as the PI3K/Akt and MAPK signaling cascades makes it an attractive option for targeted treatment. In this study, we look towards molecular processes behind Isatin's anticancer properties, with an emphasis on its involvement in treatment of breast cancer. We also address the possibility of isatin derivatives as new therapeutic agents and mechanisms. With more investigation, Isatin and its analogs might considerably contribute towards novel and successful breast cancer therapy techniques.
