Sustainable Development in Nagpur City: Challenges and Opportunities
Abstract: Sustainable development remains an indispensable framework for managing the complexities of urban growth, balancing economic expansion, environmental stewardship, and social inclusion. Nagpur, a rapidly urbanizing tier-2 city in India, presents a microcosm of the sustainability paradox confronting mid-sized urban agglomerations. This study critically examines existing sustainable development initiatives in Nagpur, assesses the efficacy of current urban policies, and explores pathways for aligning city-scale transformation with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) [1][2].
