Exploring AI Adoption in Diverse Linguistic and Cultural Contexts: The Case of International Students' Academic Transitions
This poster presents provisional findings from the first stage of a longitudinal study exploring how Chinese postgraduate students adopt generative AI tools to support academic information seeking during their transition to UK higher education. Drawing on Ruthven’s (2022) Transition Theory, the study analyses interviews and screen recordings to examine evolving search behaviours, including how students integrate AI tools into their strategies and evaluate AI-generated information.
