Narrative Analysis of Election Fraud Design in Dirty Vote Film on Youtube Channel
Documentary films are considered to have more critical content compared to other mass communication products. Dirty Vote is a documentary film released on YouTube @DirtyVote on February 11, 2024. This film tells the story of the election design fraud in the 2024, focusing on fraudulent practices deemed to undermine democratic values. Researchers used a qualitative research method with Walter Fisher's narrative analysis framework. Fisher emphasizes that humans are storytelling beings, with a crucial aspect of rationality based on coherence and fidelity. This Dirty Vote film directed by Dandhy Dwi Laksono demonstrates how narrative communication can be used as a tool to expose election fraud. The narration proves the occurrence of abuse of authority by state officials, including violations by state institutions. In terms of coherence, the sequence of events is well-structured. Meanwhile, fidelity in the Dirty Vote film is depicted through narratives that align with field conditions. Through the narrative approach, Dirty Vote successfully transforms complex issues into easily understandable stories that touch the emotional side of the audience.
