Higher Education in the Era of Hyper-hybridism: Creating 'Phygital' Classrooms for Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha Learners
This paper explores the concept of hyper-hybridism in higher education, focusing on its implications for Gen Z and Alpha learners. It delves into the creation of "phygital" classrooms, a novel learning environment that seamlessly integrates physical and digital spaces. The article examines the different pedagogical strategies, major challenges and ethical considerations associated in implementing hyper-hybrid learning space in higher education. It also highlights major recommendation of NEP 2020 which promotes the use of technology to enhance educational access and flexibility. By combining the best of both worlds, physical and digital, this paper argues that hyper-hybrid learning can foster creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration, preparing students for success in an increasingly interconnected world.
