Legal Mechanisms for Consumer Protection in Modern Market Conditions
The study analyzes the current aspects of the system of legal protection of consumer rights. The article discusses the key problems in this area, such as non-compliance with warranty obligations by sellers, the difficulty of conducting an independent examination to confirm the fact of inadequate quality of goods, the criteria and legal mechanisms for protecting violated consumer rights, including the requirement to replace the goods or return them, reduce the value of the goods, receive compensation or eliminate defects free of charge. The study actualizes the role of state authorities in implementing the state policy on ensuring proper protection of consumer rights, and analyzes some statistical data on the restoration of violated consumer rights. The author proposes a concept for improving legal mechanisms for consumer protection in the current market conditions, including by expanding opportunities for effective dispute resolution and strengthening control over compliance with the law.
