Development and Characterization of Eco-Friendly Fiber-Reinforced Composite Materials for Structural Applications

The growing demand for lightweight, high-strength, and environmentally sustainable materials has led to increased research in composite materials. This study focuses on the fabrication and characterization of fiber-reinforced polymer composites using natural fibers and bio-based resins. Mechanical properties including tensile strength, flexural strength, and impact resistance were evaluated in accordance with ASTM standards. The microstructural analysis was conducted using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to observe fiber-matrix adhesion. Results demonstrated that the developed composites exhibit competitive mechanical performance compared to conventional synthetic composites, while offering significant environmental benefits. This research provides insight into the potential of natural fiber composites for use in automotive, construction, and aerospace industries where sustainability and performance are critical.
