ASSESSING THE ROLE OF ARCHITECTS IN VIRTUAL WORLD
Abstract: The integration of Virtual Reality (VR) into architectural practice is rapidly redefining the role of architects in the digital age. This research paper investigates how immersive technologies like VR are influencing architectural design, spatial visualization, client communication, and collaboration. By enabling interactive exploration of three-dimensional environments, VR allows architects to present ideas more effectively and make informed design decisions. The study explores real-world applications through case studies and industry examples, emphasizing the benefits of enhanced user experience, design accuracy, and public engagement. Additionally, the paper discusses the growing role of VR in architectural education and training, providing students with a deeper understanding of space and form. While the adoption of VR offers numerous advantages, it also poses challenges such as high implementation costs, software complexity, and the need for user adaptation. The research also examines emerging trends, including the convergence of VR with Augmented Reality (AR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), and highlights ethical considerations in the design of virtual spaces. The paper concludes by advocating for architects to embrace VR as a powerful design tool that complements traditional methods and fosters innovation in both real and virtual environments.
