Single Step Synthesis And Properties of Sodium Superoxide Nanoparticles.
Abstract : The Current article presents the simple single step synthesis of the stable sodium superoxide (NaO2)nanoparticles. The XRD analysis confirms the structural confirmation of the NaO2nanoparticles with the particle size of15.75 nm. The RAMAN and FTIR confirms the bonding of the NaO2 nanoparticles. The UV Vis gives the absorbptionwavelength of 243 nm. For NaO2 nanoparticles, the band gap is found to be 5.10 eV, indicating a wide band gap typical ofsemiconducting materials, which suggests its potential for high stability in various applications, including battery systems. The Cyclic Voltammetry curves shows the electrochemical behaviour of the sodium superoxide nanparticles. the highestspecific capacity of 51.09 C/g and specific capacitance of 28.38 F/g were observed at a scan rate of 60 mV/s, which suggestsan optimal balance between charge and discharge times and the electrochemical reversibility of the material at this rate.
