Inequalities in spatial access to general practices in England: analysis of patient registration data
This paper explored spatial accessibility to general practices in England. The data was collected from patient registers of NHS, GP Patient Survey and 2021 census. The OLS and GWR were used in the analysis of factors that are associated with distance from lower super output areas to GP and the quality of GP. It was found that there are significant inequalities in accessing good quality GP but no differences were found in distance. The relationship however varied over space providing potentials for identifying local areas that are in need of intervention.
