Mechanical Properties of Compression Molded Natural Fiber Composites

Plastic has emerged as a major source of pollution due to its non-decomposable properties. But in the packaging industry, it seems almost impossible to reach the product to people without the product packaging in plastics. Bottles of drinking beverages spread a lot of pollution in the form of garbage which is also not decomposable and their recycling process is also not easy. Companies like Coca-Cola and PepsiCo have decided that they will soon bring their drinking beverages to the market with bottles that will be decomposable and edible also. The most suitable material for making these bottles is rice paper, milk protein and casein composite material. In this paper, we will go through the production process and characterization of composites which are used in beverage items.
