Assessing theirawareness levels is essential to improving healthcare outcomes.Aims and Objective: Our study aimed to evaluate the awareness of hypertension and heart disease amongnursing staff working at Pravara Rural Hospital, Loni, and to identify knowledge gaps and misconceptions. Methods: A cross-sectional observational study was conducted among 425 nursing staff members. Data werecollected using a structured questionnaire assessing knowledge of risk factors, symptoms, complications, andpreventive measures related to hypertension and heart disease. Misconceptions were also identified. Descriptivestatistics were used for analysis. Results: Eighty-five percent of participants knew the normal blood pressure range, but only 78% were aware ofhypertension risk factors. Similarly, 80% recognised common heart diseases, while 60% understood preventivemeasures. Misconceptions included the belief that hypertension is only a concern for the elderly (40%) and thatsalt restriction alone controls blood pressure (55%).Conclusion: While nursing staff demonstrated moderate awareness, knowledge gaps and misconceptions exist.Targeted educational programs are necessary to enhance their understanding and improve patient care.
