PHASE TRANSFER CATALYSIS OF REACTION AMINOLYSIS OF ACTIVATED AMINO ACID ESTERS IN A TWO-PHASE WATER-ORGANIC SYSTEM IN THE PRESENCE OF CETYLPYRIDINIUM CHLORIDE
The kinetics of the phase transfer catalytic reaction of the aminolysis of 4-nitrophenyl ether N-benzyloxycarbonylglycine in a two-phase butanol-1/water system in the presence of cetylpyridinium chloride has been studied. Kinetic patterns are discussed within the framework of the mechanism of competitive extraction of the nucleophile (glycinate ion) and the nucleophile (4-nitrophenolate anion) and the counterion of the interphase catalyst (chloride ion) are discussed.
