Developing Creative Writing Skills through Technology-Based Language Approaches
This study examined the impact of a technology-based intervention on enhancing the creative writing skills of senior high school students in a selected public school in the province of Batangas. Using a pre-test-post-test design, the study assessed respondents’ performance across three key indicators: content and idea development, language and style, and technical accuracy. The findings revealed a statistically significant improvement in the respondents’ overall creative writing performance, with the mean score increasing from "Satisfactory" in the pre-test to "Good" in the post-test. Content and idea development emerged as the strongest and most improved area, reflecting the intervention's success in fostering creativity and organizational skills. Language and style also demonstrated notable progress, while technical accuracy showed the most substantial improvement, addressing persistent challenges in grammar, punctuation, and coherence. The study highlights the effectiveness of technology-based approaches in enhancing students’ creative writing abilities. It also underscores the need for targeted interventions to address individual disparities and ensure balanced improvement across all dimensions of writing. The integration of digital tools not only facilitated the creative process but also aligned with the demands of modern communication and literacy. These findings have significant implications for educational institutions, offering insights into the design of innovative and inclusive writing programs that prepare students for academic and professional success.
