Bridging Cultures and Generation: The Enduring Influence of Universal Human Values
Abstract Universal human values constitute the principles common to all cultures and societies, serving as a basis for guiding the conduct of individuals toward a compassionate, just, and better global community. This paper discusses the concept, importance, and real-life implications of universal values like respect, empathy, honesty, justice, and accountability. These values not only shape personal well-being and ethical decision-making but also impact broader social cohesion, economic development, and political stability. This study clearly expresses that universal values are essential in the development of inter-cultural understanding, resilience, and cooperation by analysing how these values manifest themselves across the different cultural contexts of folklore, literature, art, and ancient Indian scriptures. The results are quite evident: that acceptance of universal human values will mean a just, sustainable, and harmonious global community since it provides a common moral basis for heterogeneous populations.
