Exploring the Trust and Adoption of AI-Driven Cybersecurity Solutions in the Real-World Context
AI in Cybersecurity has gained a lot of attention lately with promises of better threat detection, automated response and predictive analytics. But despite the promise, IT professionals lack trust and adoption of AI driven Cybersecurity solutions. This study looks at the real-world impact of AI in Cybersecurity, identifying the key factors that influence trust, barriers to adoption and effectiveness in dynamic security environments. Using data from LinkedIn polls involving over 4,500 Cybersecurity professionals, this research uncovers scepticism towards AI’s reliability, demand for real world evidence and concerns around data quality, algorithmic bias and ethical considerations. Results show that trust issues (50%) and lack of real-world evidence (27%) are the top barriers to AI adoption. Additionally, 78% of respondents said they wouldn’t rely solely on AI for Cybersecurity, they want human oversight. The findings suggest that more transparency, case studies showing real world AI performance and a hybrid human-AI approach are key to improving adoption. This research provides empirical insights into the ongoing debate on AI in Cybersecurity and recommendations to bridge the gap between AI’s theory and practice in securing digital spaces.
