Phraseologisms as Mirrors of National Identity and Human Character
Abstract. This article defines the phraseological system of language through cognitive, psychological, and cultural lenses. It investigates how phraseological units—fixed expressions with figurative meanings—reflect national character, temperament, and societal values. The role of character and temperament in communication is also explored, drawing connections between individual and national identity, as seen in classical Uzbek sources and modern psychological theories.
