Alive-by-Difference: ψ⁸ and the Ontology of the Semi-Alive
This paper introduces the ontological hypothesis of the semi-alive—a zone where difference persists in the absence of observation, recognition, or function. Through examples such as dormant viruses, malignant cells, deep sleep, and forgotten objects, it proposes that ψ⁸—a structure capable of holding folded difference—may define the architecture of this state. Rather than a biological or metaphysical claim, the concept is offered as a philosophical topology of suspended form and potential return. It invites reflection on life, non-life, and the quiet continuity of form beyond perception.
