REACHING THE PRIMARY BENEFIT FROM SYMPTOMS OF TENSION HEADACHES

Alexithymia is a complex psychological phenomenon. Despite the long history of its study by representatives of various scientific disciplines, there is still no single scientific concept that can explain the causes and mechanisms of alexithymia development. The widespread prevalence of this psychological disorder not only among patients but also among healthy people, its negative impact on the development of personality and human health, makes this issue relevant today. The article summarizes information on the main theories and hypotheses related to the phenomenon of alexithymia. The authors came to the conclusion that despite the successes achieved in recent years in the study of the etiology and pathogenesis of cancer, in the development and use of new drugs and treatment methods, their prevalence remains high, which determines the relevance of studying the factors influencing the course and prognosis of cancer. An important area of research is the study of personality traits of cancer patients, psychological prerequisites and consequences of the disease, as well as disease-related changes in interpersonal relationships and in the emotional status of patients. Such studies have contributed to the recognition of the importance of patients' subjective assessment of their psychological, social and physical well-being and its inclusion in programs for evaluating the effectiveness of treatment methods.
