A Study on the Role of Hydro-informatics in Climate Change Effects

Abstract : Climate change is one of the most urgent issues of the 21st century, deeply affecting water resources, ecosystems, and human society. Hydro-informatics, an evolving discipline that integrates hydrology, data science, and information technology, is pivotal in mitigating their impacts. The current research discusses how hydro-informatics improves water resource management, flood prediction, drought prediction, and ecosystem conservation under a changing climate. By combining real-time data, sophisticated modeling, and new technologies such as machine learning and IoT, hydro-informatics offers actionable insights to policymakers and water managers. Yet, challenges such as data availability, inter-disciplinary collaboration, and scalability need to be overcome to maximize its potential. This research highlights the catalytic role of hydro-informatics in establishing climate change resilience and urges greater investment in research, technology, and capacity development to guarantee water sustainability for generations to come
