A Novel Interdisciplinary Framework for Understanding Social Sciences
Abstract The "Crisis Plus One" theory offers a groundbreaking interdisciplinary framework for analyzing challenges in social sciences, with a particular focus on development issues in contemporary Iran. Rooted in the concept of duality (inner and outer dimensions of human phenomena), the theory argues that methodological deviations and the incongruous adoption of Western civilization have led to illusions of development and a crisis of meaning. By integrating philosophical concepts (eternity and a day), mathematical ideas (Cantor’s infinity), and historical analysis, the theory provides a novel tool for understanding the gap between rationality and human development. This paper introduces the theory and invites researchers to critique and expand upon it.
