NFDI4Earth – Strengthening Earth System Science with Interoperable Data

NFDI4Earth is the national research data infrastructure (NFDI) in the field of Earth System Sciences (ESS) for Germany. With its 69 member organisation it is one of the main players in the field of research data management (RDM) in the ESS in Germany. Its main service is the user-friendly entry point OneStop4All, which provides access to a Living Handbook (LHB), a User Support Network (USN) and other educational resources. The NFDI4Earth LHB provides wiki-style documentation. The aim is to structure and harmonise all information related to RDM and data science approaches in the ESS in a community-driven project. With the poster we would like to increase the visibility of the LHB and attract colleagues for the joint generation of knowledge in the LHB. To align our efforts with international networks, NFDI4Earth supports the development of new RDM pathways by participating in and contributing to international initiatives. NFDI4Earth also aims to initiate a cultural change in RDM by raising awareness of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and Open Science principles in Germany.
