The Value of Statistical Laws in Physics and Social Sciences by Ettore Majorana – A Full Open Access English Version
In 1930, a young physicist named Ettore Majorana wrote an essay that could have changed how we think about quantum mechanics and consciousness. Then he threw it away. This paper presents that lost work to the English-speaking physics community for the first time through open access publication. Majorana’s essay reveals a so- phisticated early understanding of quantum indeterminacy that bridges physics and philosophy in ways that remain relevant to contemporary debates about measure- ment, consciousness, and complex systems. By making this historically important work freely accessible, I hope to spark new conversations about old questions that refuse to go away.
