Understanding the Role of Higher Education Institutions in Developing Sustainable Skills: A Qualitative Study

Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) play a pivotal role in equipping students with sustainable skills that are crucial for employability and societal development. This study explores how HEIs facilitate sustainable skill development through structured educational frameworks, experiential learning, and community engagement. Using a qualitative research approach, semi-structured interviews were conducted with institutional leaders, faculty members, and students across various HEIs. The findings indicate that institutional leadership, faculty engagement, and curriculum design significantly impact skill development. The study also highlights the challenges HEIs face in aligning educational strategies with industry demands. The research contributes to the discourse on sustainable education by providing insights into effective pedagogical approaches that enhance student preparedness for the evolving workforce.
