Harnessing AI Art for Expressive Therapy: Enhancing Emotional and Social Development in Children with Autism
This study proposes an innovative theory and method that integrates AI technology with expressive arts therapy to enhance emotional expression and social skills in children with ASD. By exploring Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and deep learning technologies, this research develops a highly personalized and interactive AI art therapy framework, providing a novel supplement to traditional therapies. The innovation of this approach lies in its ability to generate real-time, personalized artworks tailored to the unique emotional states and social needs of each ASD child, thereby increasing the specificity and effectiveness of the therapy. Although this study has not yet conducted actual experiments, theoretical analysis and literature review predict that AI art therapy will demonstrate significant advantages in improving emotional recognition, expression abilities, and social interaction in children with ASD. The study design includes a RCT and longitudinal follow-up to assess both short-term and long-term effects of AI art therapy. The predicted results suggest that AI art therapy will not only outperform traditional methods in efficacy but also maintain its benefits long after the intervention. This study lays a theoretical foundation for future empirical research and recommends further exploration of the potential applications of AI art therapy across various art forms, advancing new developments in psychological interventions for children with ASD
