Political Economy and Its Analytical Potential: Verification of Theoretical Model of Crises

The article is devoted to the verification of the political economy theory of crises under capitalism. The author substantiates that the formation of monopolistic structure of the economy, characterized by imperfect competition, leads to the destruction of the mechanism of equalization of profit rates and to changes in the causes of crisis processes. In this case, the process of capital overaccumulation, as the initial cause of overproduction crises, acquires new and more acute forms of its contradictory manifestation. Their identification implies the expansion of analytical potential of the political economy approach by involving modern versions of unorthodox academic schools. The need of such a combination in analyzing the nature and peculiarities of crisis processes in the modern capitalism is revealed in the context of the development of post-Marxist synthesis.
