Barriers to Inclusive Decision-Making in Hindu Undivided Families: Impacts on Women and Younger Generations.
Abstract of the Research: This study explores the consequences of excluding women and younger family members from decision-making within Hindu Undivided Families (HUF). Rooted in traditional hierarchical structures, HUF dynamics often marginalize these groups, limiting their contributions and stifling motivation. Through a mixed-methods approach involving surveys and interviews, the research uncovers the negative effects of this neglect, including disengagement, frustration, and diminished family cohesion. The findings highlight the critical need for inclusive practices to ensure the active participation of women and younger members, fostering intergenerational harmony and sustaining family businesses. Recommendations emphasize adopting equitable decision-making frameworks to enhance motivation and long-term family success. Inclusive decision-making within Hindu Undivided Families (HUF) plays a critical role in maintaining family harmony and long-term sustainability. This study explores the barriers to inclusive decision-making and their impacts on women and younger generations. Using a mixed-method approach, the research combines quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with family members aged 18-35 and women across various HUF setups.
