HPC in Focus at The University of Edinburgh

The University of Edinburgh (UoE) offers researchers a broad range of digital, data, and computing resources. The Research Facilitation team manages the Digital Research Services (DRS) website, a central access point for these resources, providing tailored advice and support to help researchers, support staff, and students navigate the digital research landscape. In October–November 2024, the DRS Research Facilitators launched HPC in Focus, an events series connecting the university’s High-Performance Computing (HPC) communities and services. The programme featured contributions from EPCC, ITI, and the Information Services Group, offering an overview of the university’s HPC infrastructure. It included expert insights from computer scientists, chemists, and engineers on their use of HPC, networking opportunities with Women in HPC (WHPC) and the Community of Edinburgh Research Software Engineers (CERSE), and hands-on training for the UoE institutional supercomputer, Eddie, and a 2-day ARCHER2 HPC Carpentry.
