METHODS OF INTEGRATING MEDIA LITERACY INTO THE AZERBAIJANI EDUCATION SYSTEM

Abstract This study highlights the importance of critical pedagogy and analytical approaches in developing media literacy skills within the Azerbaijani education system. The rapidly evolving media ecosystem of the digital age necessitates that students transition from being passive consumers to becoming individuals who deeply analyze, question, interpret, and create media content. In this context, the study recommends the establishment of a robust institutional framework, qualified teacher training, multidimensional curriculum design, pilot implementations, and the development of technological infrastructures. Furthermore, it emphasizes that an interdisciplinary, phased, and continuously improving approach-supported by the involvement of families and civil society stakeholders-can ensure the permanent and effective integration of a media literacy culture in Azerbaijan.
