Oscillatory Coherence and Temporal Evolution of Galactic Structures
This paper develops the temporal dimension of the coherence-dark coherence framework, offering precise predictions for the periodic evolution of galactic structures, including spiral arms, bars, and star-forming rings. Unlike static density wave models, this approach introduces dynamic phasing cycles driven by recursive energy exchange between real and dark coherence fields. Spiral arms are shown to fade and re-emerge in ~500 million year (Myr) cycles, governed by coherence coupling frequencies. Similarly, central galactic bars oscillate in strength with predicted periods of ~250 Myr, while star-forming rings undergo periodic reinforcement aligned with spiral phasing. Predicted cycles are compared to observational data from the Milky Way, M51, and M101, revealing high fidelity between model and observation. The paper also forecasts upcoming phase transitions, offering timed observational targets for instruments such as the Vera Rubin Observatory, JWST, and ALMA. This work extends the coherence framework beyond static structure prediction, providing a dynamic, time-resolved model for galactic morphology that is testable through next-generation time-domain astronomy.
