Portable silent nebulizer with adaptive humidity detection and smart medication control
Abstract - Asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are two respiratory conditions that impact millions of people worldwide. It is covered under the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the WHO Global Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs). In primary healthcare settings with limited resources, the WHO Package of Essential Noncommunicable Disease Interventions (PEN) was created to enhance the management of noncommunicable diseases. Protocols for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of long-term respiratory illnesses are included in PEN. Their complex parts require routine cleaning and sporadic servicing in order to function at their best. Automated respiratory treatment driven by solar energy is offered via the Portable Nebulizer System. Its battery and solar panel power technology guarantees uninterrupted operation. The use of ECG and temperature sensors is part of physiological monitoring. Data is processed for real-time analysis using the Raspberry Pi Pico. The nebulizer is activated through a decision-making algorithm based on established thresholds. Data and alarms for unusual readings are shown on an LCD. Cloud-based remote monitoring and warnings are made possible by IoT via ESP8266. Protection circuits and automatic deactivation are examples of safety measures. Real-time data and decision-making are guaranteed by ongoing monitoring loops. Long-term patient tracking is supported by remote data logging. A multi-purpose silicone exhibits stability from -60°C to 230°C, while a specialized high-temperature silicone extends this range to 270-300°C. It is easier to use in both home and clinical settings because battery-powered operation guarantees portability. The viability of an affordable, lightweight, and multiple modes of nebulizer system for better respiratory care. The effectiveness of healthcare and patient welfare are improved by this method. By addressing key challenges associated with traditional nebulizers, this device has the potential to enhance patient experience and improve clinical outcomes.
