Abstract: India has one of the largest private healthcare sectors in the world with more than eighty percent ambulatory care and only twenty percent of ambulatory care is supported through the public healthcare sector (Gill S.S. and Ghuman R.S., 2003). In India, Primary Health Centers are the key stone of rural health care. PHCs play a vital role as the first level contact between individuals and the health system. For the present investigation Solapur district is selected as a study region. The main objectives of this paper is, To study the spatio-temporal changes of health facility in Solapur district. For the purpose of the study, only secondary information was collected from different sources. Data regarded to population, health facility and geographical information collected through Health Department, District statistical Department of Solapur and socio-economic abstract of Solapur district in 2001-2021. Here only Hospital, Clinics, primary health centers and Sub center of primary health centers are considered as health facility. The above study shows that the tahsil Malshiras and North Solapur have adequate health care facility due to Solapur is district headquarter, but on the other hand the health care facilities are very less in Karmala and Mangalwedha tahsil. Empirical result suggests that, it is an urgent need to grow health care facility in the tahsil of Karmala and Mangalwedha.
