The article describes methodical approaches to teaching pharmacology and ways to improve the theoretical preparation of students of the «Dentistry» specialty before taking Step-1. A comprehensive approach to the organization of the educational process at the Department of Pharmacology, the active use of the Moodle distance learning server and the motivation of students to improve their level of knowledge and skills improve their results in pharmacology on the integrated exam «Step-1. Dentistry» and contribute to the formation of professional competence of future dentists.
