MWCNT and B4C Reinforced AL 8011 Hybrid Nano Composites Recent Advances, Challenges and Future Directions.
The development of lightweight and high-strength materials is crucial for advancing aerospace technology. Hybrid Nano composites, particularly those incorporating multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and boron carbide (B₄C) into an aluminum 8011 matrix, offer promising enhancements in mechanical, thermal, and wear properties. This review explores the recent progress in fabricating MWCNT and B₄C reinforced Al 8011 hybrid Nano composites, emphasizing their structural integrity, performance benefits, and suitability for aerospace applications. The paper also identifies the main challenges related to uniform dispersion, interfacial bonding, and scalability of production techniques. Furthermore, future research directions are proposed, focusing on optimizing processing methods, improving compatibility between the matrix and reinforcements, and evaluating long-term durability under extreme aerospace conditions.
