Reversible Logic-Based Cryptography Design for Secure and Efficient Data Processing

Reversible logic synthesis and testing have emerged as crucial research areas due to their significance in low-power design and quantum computing. Reversible computing finds applications in various fields, including quantum computing, nanotechnology, digital signal processing, and bioinformatics. These applications require robust cryptographic mechanisms to prevent unauthorized access and ensure data confidentiality. However, conventional cryptographic algorithms often face challenges related to high area and power consumption. To address these issues, this work proposes a Reversible Logic Gates Cryptography Design (RLGCD) for secure encryption and decryption. A Linear Feedback Shift Register (LFSR) is utilized to generate cryptographic keys for both processes. Additionally, to enhance data security, watermarking is incorporated using the Least Significant Bit (LSB) method. The FPGA-based performance evaluation of the RLGCD architecture demonstrates significant improvements over conventional cryptographic approaches in terms of efficiency and security.
