My SQL in Mobile Application Backend Systems

Database management solutions play a vital role in order to store, access and properly scale a growing amount of data in the constantly changing field of modern mobile applications. However, since MySQL is open source, highly reliable, and offers a broad set of features, it serves as the basis for many backends of mobile applications. To achieve the objectives of this study, a real life mobile application with actual mobile users and backend MySQL database will be analyzed and the findings will be primary in nature and the focus will be to determine the usability, scalability and performance of MySQL in mobile application backend systems. In this work the coordination of processes and still must handing of multiple users at once and real-time data is examined, using sample datasets copied to the database and running SQL queries for the mobile app scenario. The finding will therefore compare the strengths and weaknesses of MySQL to arrive at recommendations on its appropriate use when considering mobile application designs.
