TEACHING ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY CONCEPTS, ATTITUDES, AND BEHAVIOR THROUGH BUSINESS EDUCATION
This study explores the teaching of environmental responsibility, concepts, attitudes, and behaviors through business education at Negros Oriental State University, Main Campus I, in Dumaguete City, Philippines. It examines respondents’ profiles, teaching methods, levels of commitment, competencies, experiences, and challenges encountered. Findings reveal that the College of Business Education has more male than female respondents, with teachers predominantly using presentation and discussion methods. Educators demonstrated a strong commitment to imparting environmental knowledge and were most competent in developing environmental concepts. However, significant challenges were identified, including a serious lack of teaching materials and insufficient emphasis on environmental topics within the curriculum. These results underscore the need to address resource constraints and integrate environmental education more robustly into the business curriculum. Such efforts are essential for fostering sustainable practices and environmental responsibility among future business leaders.
