Processos de subjetivação de pessoas idosas: Uma análise dos fatores associados ao envelhecimento saudável
Aging is a natural and uncontrollable phenomenon of the human experience. Thus, it is necessary to investigate the processes of subjectivation in elderly people, that is, to investigate the psychosocial factors that influence the perception of individuals about their own aging, especially with regard to the development of self-image, emotional challenges, issues related to social performance and the importance of programs and public policies in old age. To respond to this problem, a qualitative and exploratory research was carried out with seven participants aged 62 to 70 years, members of PUC Mais Idade, an extension program of the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, which aims to promote the healthy aging of members. From this study, which originated in the discipline of Psychology, Collective Health and Public Policies, it was found that the perception of aging itself is intrinsically related to the social support that individuals receive from their peers, family and friends.
