Invasive species of Ailanthus altissima (Mill.) Swingle in Donetsk

The paper presents the results of a study of the planting and self-seeding of Ailanthus altissima (Mill.) Swingle. Usually, the formation of self-seeding is confined to disturbed lands. The intrusion of A. altissima into green spaces leads to the destruction of their structure, the suppression of plants and their loss of decorative effect. Cutting down trees and uprooting, as well as mowing down shoots, are ineffective due to the strong growth-forming ability of this species. Dense thickets of A. altissima displace or block the growth of other species. This gives grounds to classify this species in the conditions of Donetsk as a transformer species.
