Advancements in 3D Printed Cancer Tissue Models: A Systematic Review
This systematic review, synthesized using the Synthory.AI service, explores the application of 3D bioprinting in creating cancer tissue models, focusing on glioblastoma and metastasis with heterogeneous tumor microenvironments. Following PRISMA guidelines, 14 primary research articles from PubMed and PubMed Central™ were analyzed. The review highlights the capability of 3D bioprinting to replicate complex tumor microenvironments and enhance cell viability, advancing cancer research. Despite notable progress, challenges such as maintaining construct stability and optimizing bioprinting parameters remain. Addressing these will improve the translational potential of 3D printed models in developing effective therapeutic strategies and personalizedmedicine.
