Fish Seed Transportation
Fish seed transportation plays a pivotal role in aquaculture by facilitating seed distribution and enhancing fish farming practices. Traditional methods, such as using earthen pots, often resulted in high mortality due to limited understanding of fish survival requirements. Modern advancements have introduced techniques that emphasize maintaining optimal transport conditions, including controlling oxygen levels, pH, and ammonia, alongside innovations like oxygen-packed polythene bags and splash- free containers. Conditioning fish before transport, through methods such as fasting and maintaining optimal water conditions, reduces stress and improves survival rates. Additionally, the use of sedatives, antiseptics, and specialized closed systems ensures safer and more efficient transport, particularly for long distances. These innovations have significantly improved the sustainability and reliability of live fish transport in aquaculture.
