Virtual storytelling as a synthesis of virtual reality and artificial intelligence.
Oxana I. Elkhova’s article "Virtual Storytelling as a Synthesis of Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence" explores the integration of advanced technologies in education through interactive storytelling. Unlike traditional virtual reality simulators and serious games, virtual storytelling combines educational content with narrative structures, enabling personalized and immersive learning experiences. This approach fosters creativity, critical thinking, and digital literacy by encouraging students to actively engage with content rather than passively consume it. The study highlights successful implementations, such as Google Expeditions, Nearpod VR, and The Body VR, which enhance learning by providing interactive and multi-layered educational experiences. The fractal structure of virtual storytelling allows for complex and adaptable narratives, making learning more engaging and effective. Additionally, the technology supports individualized learning styles, improves knowledge retention, and overcomes barriers associated with traditional teaching methods, particularly in distance education. The article concludes that virtual storytelling is a transformative educational tool that prepares students for the demands of the digital era, fostering deeper learning, engagement, and adaptability in modern education.
